DataHub: Powering LinkedIn’s Metadata

I’ll cover the genesis of DataHub and the evolution of LinkedIn’s metadata challenges and solutions in this talk. You’ll learn about the rationales behind each of the major technical decisions and the consequences of making them. I’ll also talk about the roadmap of the OSS project and some of the exciting new features planned.

Mars has been the tech lead of the Metadata Team at LinkedIn for the past 3.5 years. He co-created and open sourced DataHub—LinkedIn’s 3rd generation of metadata infrastructure and search & discovery tool. Prior to LinkedIn, Mars was an engineer at Google, working on App Engine (first Google Cloud Platform product) and language models for Google Keyboard (part of Google Assistant).
