Costs of credit decisions for small- and medium enterprises (SMEs) are high. This is caused by the complexity of the supporting documentation, the multitude of possible relations between entities and the strict legal framework around credits.

We built a data-centric decisioning process that is using AI to facilitate the decision. This enables credit decisions within 24 hours and disbursement within 48 hours. As a byproduct we also own all insights throughout the customer lifecycle for all customers.

In this presentation we will share how we built the platform using open source components (PostgreSQL, Airflow, dbt, Python, Fast API, Cib7) running on the Google Cloud Platform (security components, Pub/Sub etc.). We will also discuss the challenges we faced and resolved, lessons learned, and future directions.
