Budapest Data Forum – Call for Presentations (CFP)

The Budapest Data Forum is a leading data engineering, data warehousing and big data conference. The conference will be held for the 14th time this year as a hybrid event with both in-person and remote talks.

The conference is bilangual, so English and Hungarian talk submissions are both welcome.

The CFP submission deadline expired on May 15, 2022.

Speaker benefits

  • Free registration and travel support
    Our speakers will be able to attend free of charge on both days of the conference. International speakers can also request co-funding for accommodation and travel expenses if they plan to travel to Budapest for the conference.
  • Knowledge sharing and networking
    The conference is an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge, learn from others and exchange experiences.
  • Speaker services
    We provide a room for the speakers where they have a chance to network, prepare for the presentation, or send important emails. Similar conditions will be provided via online platforms for remote speakers.
  • Mentoring program for new speakers
    Do you want to be sure that your performance totally meets the interests and expectations of the audience? Please let us know and we will involve a  professional mentor in order to help you to prepare for the presentation.

Formats and types

The first day of the conference is planned to take place in Budapest with in-person participation, the second day will be held entirely online. We are accepting proposals for both, so please provide your preferences on the registration form.

The conference is bilingual, so Hungarian and English presentations are both welcomed.

Session length

We plan to have 3 main talk formats:

  • Standard conference talks are 25-30 minutes long
  • Quick talks are 10-15 minutes long
  • We are also accepting a limited number of tutorial sessions. Those are 80-90 minutes long and will take place on June 13 (Monday).

Talk types

Based on past years, the following talk types are usually well received:

  • Technology presentations: These presentations showcase software technologies relevant to the conference topics, either at beginner or advanced levels.
  • Case studies: Presentation based on ongoing or completed projects, discussing the goals, the process, the results (expected or realized) and lessons learned
  • Tips and best practices: Sharing experiences and best practices for data-related technical or business topics.

Submitting a proposal

The submission deadline expired on May 15, 2022.

However, the Program Committee may, on a case-by-case basis, accept late applications for a few days.

Call for Presentations Application Form

The received applications will be evaluated by the program committee of the conference. The results will be notified to the applicants by e-mail.
